Trying to remove the stock mufflers off of my 2012 FXDC. I have loosened the clamp and removed the retaining bar from the bottom. Nothing appears to be obstructing or connected in any way. But, they aren't budging. Concerned about pulling too hard. If everything is loosened do I just pull/yank until they loosen up?
They can be stuck real good sometimes.
If it isn't moving up and down or right to left any double check to see if something else is fastened.
If the clamp was on too tight it will roll the muffler end, put a recess in it where it goes on the header. This will make it really hard to get off.
Try spraying some WD-40 where the pipes meet. Let it soak a few minutes and then try to remove in a circular motion while pulling. It took me about 20 to 25 minutes of side to side and up and down and circular pulling and my bike only had 2 miles on it!!
