Default New Bars for my Super Glide

Here's hoping someone can help me out.

I want to put new bars on my 07 Super Glide. I'm 6'7 so I have quite a long wingspan and want to stretch my arms out more when riding. With the speedo being integrated into the clamp for the bars I'm not sure about how restricted I will be in bar selection.
I'm considering some straight drag bars as I like the look and I definitely have the reach for them. I am also considering apes but then I have to factor in the cost of new cables.

Can anyone who is familiar with switching bars out on this bike lend some advice and maybe some pics of how their bars look on their rides? If you have apes, could you give me a round about cost after the bars, in cables I might incur? I do all the work on my bike myself so labor cost is not an issue aside from the cost of beer it will run me to get my buddy to give me a hand with it.

Thanks in advance folks. [sm=burnout.gif]

Do a search Jay.

You will find hours of reading on this subject/issue.

My 06 SuperGlide, below,
I changed out to 06 WideGlide inch and a quarter apes and risers.

Couple hundred bux and a little machine work to retain the stock speedo location.

I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks Mud. I was poking around a bit looking at different bar threads. It just kind of seemed like alot of stuff I turned up were pertaining to Bobs and WG's. I did run into Indicas awesome thread on installing apes and it made me think I may go with drags for now.
I think apes may be a good winter project at the end of the year. I have to admit that yours do look really nice though. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Just put 18" apes on mine.
around $100 for the bars,
about $50 for harness extension
around $150 for cables and fittings

Good luck
