Default drag bars or ape bars???

i pose this question to the people that have had both styles. since i can't find a way to ride a bikes that has both styles.

i like the look of both but i don't like the look of the risers for drag bars and think that apes look better on fx front ends because of the smaller forks.

does anyone have experience with 1.5" bars?

what are peoples experience that have ridden with both styles?

I had drag bars on my wide glide, changed to apes and have never gone back. I have put apes on every bike I have had since then.

I've had them both and apes are far more comfortable for me. I tried to make the drags work with more rise and more pullback but for me there is no comparison.
Everyone is different so figure out what position is most comfortable and get the bars that best fit you.

12" apes on my wife's Lo, stock Hollywood bars on my Slim.

The Hollywood bars are going to be swapped out for 16" RSD King Apes once I have the funds together to do so. I'm finding that the stock bars have me bending forward at the waist, and reaching downward to grip the bars. For me, 16" apes will allow me to be more relaxed, and riding with my hands at around my shoulders. I'm still good with the current setup for about 300 miles, but after that, I'm ready to get the hell off.

I've had low

A little taller

Medium

Apes are way more comfortable...

12.5's on my rock & train probably marginally more comfy (coz I'm kinda short) but lovin my 16's...

I've had flats, stock and beach. Love my 16s the best. You might check out klf33's bike. He just recently made a bar switch that looks real nice...

Went from drags to mini apes on my Nightrain, liked both but I changed to apes to try and eliminate neck and shoulder ache which I get after around 45 minutes of riding, it worked to some extent, but I found that generally apes are more comfortable.

BR bars are right down the street from me. Billy fabbed me up a custom set of 1 1/2" apes with a flat horizontal grip that are slightly under my arm pit height where I have almost full arm extension. Love them! Look awesome..

Guess I'm the minority here. I preffer drags over apes. Much more comfortable for me on longer rides. City riding doesn't really matter much to me either way although I do find it much better to manuver with drags than with apes.

Default different take on answer to your question

I've had both style of bars on different bikes. I tend to ride a bit more aggressive with Drags as opposed to Monkey Bars in urban traffic, generally speaking, where 90% of my riding occurs. Just me, your mileage will vary.
