I have been searching the forum and the internet for photos of drag bars on fxdc's with not a lot of luck. I have an'09 fxdc with a lot of stuff done and ready to change the look to a more slimmed down one. I am lowering it in the front and rear and looking for drag/t bars with 5-7 rise and 5-6 inch pull back. What I ave found are taller risers than I want. The HD street slammers have the look. Problem is they will not fit fxdc models for some reason. My question is: has anyone done this on an fxdc? If so, will you help me with a photo, link or recommendation?
When I bought this bike it had auxiliary lights, engine guard, sissy bar that I will sell. Windshield and sissy bar are hd quick release. If interested let me know.
Do you want separate risers and bars, or a one-piece unit? The separate pieces have a lot more options - different bars, bar position, etc. The one-piece units have a cleaner look.
Pullback is normally measured from the top of the triple clamp, where the risers attach. With the typical 28" rake, you get almost 1/2" of pullback for every inch of height in the risers. A 6" straight riser will give you 2.8" of pullback. To get 5" total pullback, you'd need drag bars with about a 15 degree bend.
If the 5-6" of pullback you're referring to is just that of the bars, not total, then you could use Drag Specialties 300334 or Wild 1 Dragster bars. There are some for sale in the classifieds if you want to see pictures.
