Hey, I'm pretty new to riding (on the street at least) and am currently looking for some new handlebars for an '08 fxd that was just given to me.
I am 5'9" and 150lbs and am looking for just some simple straight drag bars with just enough pullback to be comfortable. I didn't know buying drag bars could get so complicated.
I found a listing online and this seems to be exactly what I want.
Can anybody identify the measurements of the bars and/or risers and help me simplify this process? It would be much appreciated.
Looks like 6.5" pullback risers and a broomstick bar. Broomsticks will make your wrist sore after a while, so I'd think about a standard drag bar with a little pullback to get your wrists at a more natural position. Just my 2 cents.
Getting the right bars depends on you. Sit on your bike and put your hands/arms in the position you want to end up riding in. Have someone help you measure the height of the riser you are going to need and then the amount of pullback. You could even ride to a dealer or other parts house and hold some bars to figure out how they will fit.
Just buying bars for looks or on someone else's opinion is setting yourself up for failure.
