I have forwards with the DK Customs Heel Rest and Mids, It might seem a little over kill, but I use the hell out of all of them when I ride long or short distance. I did modify my mids to use a shift lever peg and not a full length peg.
blueagnel That set up you have...thats what i would do! How did you get a shift lever peg to work as a full length peg??
and I cant find the part number the is the bracket for the mid mounts, do you know where i could find them?
Here is how one of our customers has theirs set up. We hear nothing but good things about the heel rest. It does reduce the lean angle some.... but its not drastic. It really depends on how you angle it. Check out the special we have going on in my signature right now...... (hint, hint, cough, cough)
Thank you for the shameless plug I think i will order the heel rest kit especial since there is a special happening
now to pick out shift level peg DANG too many choices
Reindeer - What angle do you have your heel rest? I hear they drag often
I've got them at maybe a 45 deg angle relative to horizontal. You can see them in my sig pic if you look real close. Yes, they do drag occasionally. If you're dragging your pegs now, you'll probably won't like the heal rests.
I have the Kuryakyn stirrups. They were on the bike when I got it. The DK ones look a little smaller, might be better for ground clearance but the Kury ones have a pretty large platform.
I installed the reduced reach forward control brackets from HD with the heel rests and its the best of both worlds.......the kit brings the controls back about an 1.5" and up just a little bit so I can still lean the bike over without grinding the heel rests so much

The bike came with the mid setup stock, after I installed the forwards, I removed all the unneeded hardware and reinstalled the mounts. I then took the stock pegs and chopped it up, drilled and tapped a hole in the pivot part to receive the shift peg bolt and bolted it to gether and installed it on the mount. There is plunty of support to stand on, and it doesn't stick out where it would get in your way when your feet are on the ground. I am sure you can find some take off mid mounts on here or on eBay pretty cheap.
Cut off at red line, grind down to blue line and drill and tap at green location.
I've thought about the adding stirrups on mine too, but just couldn't find any I really liked. The Kury option is the one the closest I've gotten, just not thrilled of the look. I did put a 2"extension on and it did make me more comfortable.
I do dig blueangles idea a lot.
