I am looking to give my legs and lower back some rest during longer rides on my fatbob.
I first was looking to get HD heel rest for my forwards, but then a buddy of mine said why not just install the mid pegs. (i do not know why i never thought of it)
Well now, I am not sure what would be best. I really like my forwards so i am not going to changes those out. And I am not a fan of floor boards.
I have read a few threads of guys who love there heel rest HD or other, but no one ever mentions anything of mids as an option. Or does it does look really bad no body wants to put them on?
any opinion would be great on this. I want to get set up before the Toys for Tots ride in early December, where i am on my ride for at least 2hrs straight
I have the heel rests and really like them. Gives you a little more support and a little room to slide your feet around. It would be pretty cheap and easy to add some mid pegs however. I've thought about throwing mine back on for longer rides, but haven't yet. Easy enough to bolt them on/off. I'm sure finding someone with an used set of mids shouldn't be that hard.
You can install mid pegs without changing the location of your controls, depending upon the clearance of your exhaust. It's a pretty inexpensive and easy process.

Thx ahead of time
I bought a set from D&K custom products I must say they are back savers.
B/C i been looking for a black set!!! this changes a lot, thank you!!
Here is how one of our customers has theirs set up. We hear nothing but good things about the heel rest. It does reduce the lean angle some.... but its not drastic. It really depends on how you angle it. Check out the special we have going on in my signature right now...... (hint, hint, cough, cough)
I have forwards with the DK Customs Heel Rest and Mids, It might seem a little over kill, but I use the hell out of all of them when I ride long or short distance. I did modify my mids to use a shift lever peg and not a full length peg.

I have forwards with kuriakan retractable heel rests. I don't use them often because they drag on the ground and don't really provide that much relief on long rides. Usually, I just kick my passenger pegs down and hook my heels on those for a change of position. Have thought about putting the mid pegs back on just for long trip.
