Default Don't forget to put a wrench on your bike

Well I got the bike out yesterday and got my first ride in for 2007..(50miles).But there was still a lot of salt dust on the roads and my shiny black lowrider has a nice gray/white dusty film on it this morning so out came the cleaning gear. 1 hour later back to squeaky clean so I got out the wrenches and started checking every fastener I can get a wrench on. Well I found 14 loose bolts/screws....yep 14. Plus yesterday had to air up the tires as they were both about 4 lbs low from sitting all Winter.

So my best advice is to hit your bike with a wrench if it's been sitting all Winter...

Good tip. Lucky for me my bike has been almost completely taken apart this winter and everything has been torqued and loctited.

Fork pinch bolts, primary case, riser, brake resevoir cover, footpegs, exhaust baffle, all over the bike. I'm doing my critical fasteners next weekend.

Are you guys checking every single torque (I have the big manual) and tightening to spec when you tighten all of this stuff? I'm just wondering because I would like to do this too (check for loose "stuff").
