Default Turn signal re-relocation

My rear signals were previously moved to accommodate a detachable sissy bar, but I've now moved them again with the layback plate kit. I'm now left with the hardware for their last location attached the the sissy bar mounts.

Does anyone know what part I can buy to replace this hardware with just some simple chrome bolts without the studs for the signals?

This is what I'm referring to:

I think you can unscrew that assembly and just reattach the docking piece with a new 3/8-16 x 2" chrome button head bolt, check out this link for a description and graph. It doesn't show the 2" bolt but I know you will need it and can pick it up and Ace Hardware or HD.

Oh..and then put some magnetic chrome caps over it when not using the back rest, really cleans up the look, they run about $30 for a pair.

Thanks - that helps. I like the idea of the chrome covers too - are they an HD part or something aftermarket?

I did the exact same thing you are doing. I kept my sissy bar and I ended up removing the hollow bolts/hardware for the turn signals and replaced the bolts with some chrome allen head bolts I had in my toolbox with a nut on each on the backside/inside of the fender. Just make sure the bolts aren't too long otherwise they could contact the tire if your suspension ever bottomed out.

They are an HD part, just tell them you need them for a Dyna, because there are several different sizes. Can't recall the part number but the counter guy should be able to hook you up, they are generally a stock item.

The docking hardware kit came with extra bolts for this exact reason. Maybe you still have those extra button heads somewhere?

Just go to the hardware store. I use a local Sears hardware. They have a healthy stock of 3/8-16 button head bolts in chrome.

You could always throw some nice chrome acorn nuts on the end of that stud.
