About 600 or so miles ago I had HD put on Forward Controls put on my Bob. I have noticed since then a Film of somthing reappearing on the bottom portion of crankcase/ inner primary gasket, every time I ride 75miles or more.It is not like an oil drip, but just a small damp film that appears on the crankcase side of the gasket. You have to shine a flashlightup on the black finish to see it. HD has looked at twice a claim it is nothing. I know there is no oil pressure there, so what is happening there?
This has been brought up before...Except from what I remember, it's an area right behind the rear cylinder on the left side (near the primary...kinda where the tranny meets the engine)...is this what you're talking about?
I wouldn't even begin to be able to tell you where to look for that thread...but it seemed to be a pretty common problem for 06 dyna owners...myself included. Eventually it stopped for me...and for a lot of others if I remember correctly. I don't remember exactly what was said about it....but I know some folks did some research, and it turned out to be no big deal. Sorry I can't elaborate more...but I kinda stopped worrying about it when I heard others had the same thing..and even moreso when it stopped.
i remember that thread and yeah i had it also and it quit. no this has occured after i had put on the FC... but it looks the same as that other thing did
Oil seeping on a Harley....don't worry about it. That is how they are! If it is actually pouring, dripping, spraying out on you, and makes a terrible mess....then you have a worry.
Let it seep for now...but keep your eye on it. If it gets worse like what I already mentioned....then it may require your attention.

Mineseeped from the sensor on the right side of the front of the crankcase. When I took it for it's first service they said that is very common. I think they took the sensor out and put some thread sealer on it. I know it doesn't seep anymore.

Yup, the same seepage from the oil pressure switch was pointed out to me as well at the weekend.......err, and that was after the second time it had been used with mileage standing at about 70....
