I have an '08 Dyna FXDF. I've done a lot to this bike. I'm trying to get a little more speed out of her. I have the stock wheels which are really heavy. Can someone please tell me what the lightest wheels are for this bike? If anyone has upgraded to lighter wheels will you please share your experience with me? Was there a noticeable difference in your bikes speed and performance, etc.?

They are heavy for a reason....it would be cheaper to change something else, like the cams than go for new wheels.
You can find some nice and elaborate performance wheels. But like the previous post said, it really won't make the diff that cams or even a big bore kit would do. Lighter wheels would probably be like a Stage 7 upgrade.
really speaking your weight saving would do jack **** for performance, spend the money on a turbo or supercharger, theres also a technical reason regarding sprung and unsprung weight ,, the smart guys will explain it better thanks guys
Lighter wheels are generally thought to improve handling/suspension performance more than anything, and there are lotsa options for sportbikes to do this. Not sure you will find much that will fit a Fatbob and really help. If top speed is what you are after I am not sure they would really help, might slightly help acceleration with less rotating mass to spin.
First, welcome to HDForum! If you tell us what all you have done to your bike, then you will probably get some additional good recommendations/thoughts.
I have to say it; It is a 600+ lbs bike...and you want to put "lighter" rims on it...to improve performance?? Let me give you my visual on that; ever hit a bar and see the really over-weight woman in tiny high heels...well that is the equivalent IMHO.
As stated previously, cams, engine bore, fuel management and the like...
Most wheels weigh about the same unless you go to carbon fiber. My opinion is that wheels are much more for looks than performance. RSD claims that their Morris wheels are lighter than most but they do not say how much they weigh thus negating that claim in my opinion.
Check out Lyndall Racing Brakes Carbon Composite rotors. Now those are light. Had them on my Dyna.
This is why I joined the forum. Thank you so much for your feedback. I'm not an engineer in anyway. I just thought if it's lighter it will be faster. You guys have given me amazing advice. I'm going to go in a different direction. Thank you again!
I'm no engineer either, but Harley's are already heavy bikes compared to sport bikes. If you are looking for more speed do some cams, big bore, tuner, dyno tune, etc. For the price of a set of wheels you could do a really nice engine build.
