I agree. The tank lift looks great. I like seeing the engine. Along with the tank lift I added a K&N heavy breather. Can really see the engine now with the stock breather cover gone..
Thanks for the info! I've been hoping for a solution to the buffeting problem on my FLD and this makes sense. I don't think it makes any difference in the look of the bike anyway, it's such a subtle mod few people will even notice it.
I just ordered a kit from an ebay vendor and they requested info on the tank ear configuration, mine has the bend and I messaged them with that so hopefully I'll soon have this problem corrected.
You notice it a lot more in person than you do in pics. Do yourself a favor and take a before and after pic of the bike. Maybe to the untrained eye it's not a high impact mod. But it along with a couple other minor kids totally changes the entire look of the bike.

Still, doesn't look bad to me, especially if it has a good effect against the buffeting.
I did the lift on my FLD. It did reduce the buffeting a good bit but did not eliminate it, for that alone I would be happy. The thing is it also puts the speedometer/gages at an angle that makes it easier to read, AND, it just looks and feels more natural and I really like it!
I noticed my fuel gauge has read much more correctly as a result of the 2" lift aswell. I did mine only because i looked like a gorilla riding a minibike. I wanted the bike to appear a little bit more proportional to me
