George, thanks bro...did you ever change out the springs in your forks?
Once i went to those racetech flat wounds, big improvement and they were only about $125 US. Later finished it up with the progressive 430's in back.
Those noticeably helped and even translated into more even braking too. Definitely a better recovery on nasty divots and the floating/bottoming out issues ended. With your set up I'm pretty sure you will love em.
I think once I change these pads out too, I'm gonna be liking it even more.

Totally different setup. Check out the expand view. One leg runs standard damper rod in oil, the other is a cartridge insert. Also, the forks are spaced apart different to any other Harley. No parts interchange.
I ride mine pretty hard at times and the brakes are fine IMHO.
I'm coming from a low end sport bike. The brakes on the Switchback are not as good. Aside from some dual disc HD bikes, any other dual disc bike that I've ridden have better brakes.
Edited to add: Well, I actually looked at the attached article. I'm very very surprised by the results. Would have never figured the Switchback to come in 2nd beating out other bikes I would have thought for sure would have beat the Switchback. Yes, I'm eating crow and it doesn't taste good. Regardless, stainless brake lines and better pads are still going to be purchased.

Don't feel bad, it surprised me to see it in print, confirming my experience riding my FLD pretty hard sometimes and having been to the wonderful roads in the mountains of N.C. and Tenn. several times on this bike.
I came off a VRSCD to this bike and even though I've never had the rear wheel off the ground when stopping like I have with it the FLD still has great brakes.
I remember when dual disc first came out the word was they were better but more useful for race bikes and street bikes could do without them.
