Default T-bars

I was wondering what would be the max riser height for installing a t-bar on my 2010 FXDC using the stock cables? Any positive input is appreciated. Mahalo!

You have to figure in not only height but also pullback. I bought 8" rise with 7.5 pullback and actually had more then the stock setup. 8-10" should be no problem on your year and model

Mahalo bruddah for your feedback! You provided the exact answer I needed. I'm looking at West Coast MX-bars in 8", give an extra 2" for the rise on the bars themselves, puts me at 10" overall height. I looked at your pics of your scoot and you got a nice looking ride rooti.

Hey Hobo,

Just so you know, the WC 8" MX-Tbars taken from the site:

"
These Handlebars are measured by overall height 6 inch risers with the 2 inch rise on the top cross bar equals 8 inches."

I have the 10" MX-Tbars and could have gone two more inches. But I have a FXDB, not a FXDC and would be guessing regarding your stock set up. The 10" MX bars have 8" rise and 2" for the bars..

Not trying to change your mine, just want to make sure you get the one's you want.

Call Westcoast t-bars, Scott took the time answered a few of my questions and solidified my decision to go with 10's...and almost three years later, I'm still happy. Love my bars.

Default T-bars

I'm still debating which t-bars I want. I'm seriously looking at Wild 1 WO557 Psycho Street Fighter T-bars, with 8" rise + 4" rise on the handlebar, totaling 12" rise. I want to use my stock cables on my 2010 FXDC. The Street Fighter t-bars have less of the "pogo stick" look than the 10" t-bars. I'm preferring the Wild 1's over the WC T-bars because of the beefier construction of the Wild 1"s. I'm wondering if anyone out there has re-used their stock FXDC cables on 12" of rise? (mainly t-bars) Any positive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My brother is running 10" tbars with 2" spacers under them = 12" on his 08 street bob. I'm not sure of cable length difference between the 2 bikes

I have 10" West Coast Tbars (which are actually around 11" when measured to the top of the crossbar) with 2" extensions for a total of about 13" (at the top of the crossbar) and I could still go higher with my stock cables and wires. I could probably get to 16-17" before I needed to swap anything to be honest. The FXDC is going to have shorter cables and wires, however, since it doesn't come with apes off the floor like an FXDB does.

What I could find online tells me that the stock FXDC bars are just shy of 31" wide, are 6.5" high (probably including riser height, not 100% sure), and have about 11" of pullback. There is a good amount of wire tucked in the frame so you'll probably be fine there up to a good 12" or so, however your cables and brake line may limit you. I am guesstimating, but if you don't go with t-bars that are super wide with tons of pullback you can probably get away with 10-12" total on stock cables/lines.

For example's sake, the FXDB has 12" total rise in the bars stock, including the risers, however the damned things are like 34" wide with around 8" of pullback. My t-bars + extensions put me slightly higher at just about 13", but they are only 28" wide with around 2.25" of pullback, so I actually have an excess of wire, cables, and brake line to work with. I literally had to reroute my clutch cable through the center of the bars to make up the slack.

Mahalo brothers for all of the great feedback! I gotta find that one FXDC guy who has maxed out their stock cables at what riser height! I believe the FXDB's can max out at 14" of rise. My co-worker's FXDB has 2' riser extensions with the stock 10" mini apes with room to spare. I'm gonna keep searching until I can verify the max height T-bars I can install, coz I ain't got deep pockets an gotta make my buys count. Aloha guys! Hobo.
