Default Turn signal relocation question

I am in the process of putting 12 inch apes on my 09 SB. So far all is going well (started last night). Got everthing off and even got pins out of connectors (thanks to all the posts and pics about this). I will be reloctaing the signals to the trees but my issue has to do with pulling the wires through the switch housing. The wires to the turn signals are wrapped in a black covering that is thick and very hard to pull thought the housing. I would like to keep the wrapping on to protect the wires, so is there any easier way to get that long length of wire through the housing or should I just cut the wires close to the housing and connect them back. All suggestions would be appreciated.

Just finished the same job last week mate, cut at plug just give your self plenty of length on the plug to solder to, the factory have gone a little excesive with the amount wire length. Took me about 1 hr from start to finish including taking the tank off for easy access. I've just got the clutch cable to finish up when I get back from work.

Are you relocating to the fork tubes right above the bottom trees? if so I would cut the wires and repin them to the connector. I just internally wired my bars and had to cut the wires I couldn't disassemble the pins from connectors.

My turn signals were already mounted to my bottom trees and I went with lighted turn signal mirrors. If you're interested we may work something out. All you would need to do is bolt on and hook up to connector.
