Since I am removing my front signals from the handlebars, I have to pull the wire out of my internally wired apes. Tell me if I am remebering this right?
1. Unplug turn signal plug at front of tank
2. Remove wires from plug or cut wire (I have extended wiring due to my apes, so cutting will be necessary)
3. Loosen controls and pull turn signal wire through handlebars
4. Remove turn signal and relocate to fork
5. Repeat on other side.
It's been awhile since I installed my apes and I am trying to remember how the wires run. Any tips on getting the wires out of the bars easier would be appreciated.
I had to cut mine in front of the fuel tank where they go up into the bars and rejoin them. Couldnt pull em through the forks, they seemed to be cable tied or something to the other internally running wires. Still work a treat. Just have to put up with the joins, they are easily hidden though.
You have to cut the wire because both turn signal wires are connected to the plug and the plug will not fit through the handlebars. Other than that you pretty much have it down.
