I have been thinking about this for awhile. I had been think in of some ghost flames but...Since the bike is Denim Black I figured go an "Old Skool" look and do some pinstripe red flames on the bags, faring, and tank.
I have seen a thread here of pinstripe kits (easy to remove if I change my mind later) and have a quote of $250 to paint them on.
This is the design: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-on-my-sg.html
Old School, but that's a good thing. In my opinion, painted on looks dramatically better than tape. Painted and clear coated is really cool, but could cost you $1000. You could have them painted on without clear for $300-500 depending on the artist and if you catch him during a slow time.
Thanks guys, yep I thought the price looked good but I just can't decide if that is the route I want to take so I think I will begin with the decal route and live with it for a bit and if I still like it after a couple of months I will have it painted on. I sent Colin a PM to see if he was pleased with how the decals turned out and have held up. I am still waiting for his reply.

most people have to really look at it to see if its a decal or not. i had silver flames on my meanstreak, the edge was a painted on pinstripe, even i didnt realize the flame was a decal till i put and small dent in the tank and the flame peeled.. its your bike, do what makes you happy...i should take my own advice as to what i say about other people's bikes..lol

Yep, I get that for sure, like food, seasoned and cooked to taste...my bike my way, LOL!
Good the hear about the decals. I just checked on Colin's last Post/Thread, he sold the Road Glide in March of this year so I guess I won't hear back from him. Deeper in the Thread I linked at the beginning of this thread he posted photos of the SG he had done and wow these flames look great. There are no edges to them at all. He did have photos and a YouTube of the bike with the decals on it and this was done some 2 almost 3 years later and man they look good so I think that is the route I will take. Now I just need to hear back from his vendor so I can order them.
