I really want one, I have my big touring Electra Glide and have put about 24k miles on it in about a year and a half, would love to get one for local and riding to work to keep the miles down on my EG, I just saw the new 2014 SB is in that amber whiskey color, I like that or in the red, decisions, decisions....
Any particular year better than any other? I actually found a new non current 2012 at a dealer here in NYC. I think they are asking too much for it but I think I am at least going to go check it out. They are asking $15535 which seems high to me for a 2012, but it does have the ABS option.
I might be over-generalizing but everything is too expensive in NYC.
I looked at them when I bought my wide glide. They felt way small for me. Im 6'3 225lbs. I just felt giant on it. Really the wide glide was the only bike I felt fit me and I still ended up adding apes to mine to make it more comfortable.
I've never seen a switchback with taller apes. I wonder if that would have made it better for me

I'm 6' w/ 34" inseam. If it were any smaller, it wouldn't work for me either.
There is a recent thread in the forums about "the most versatile HD" or something like that...you should read it.
IMO, the Switchback is the perfect Harley....chassis & handling of a Dyna, comfort features such as factory windshield, floorboards, and hard bags...all of which are removable. Only Dyna with factory floorboards & FL front end. It's Light weight & nimble & works well for about any situation.
I've ridden about every bike HD has made in recent years, and the Switchback is my favorite. Unfortunately I rode one AFTER I bought my FXDC. Handling, comfort, feel, versatility...it has it all.
As far as comfort for taller guys, I think the Switchback feels the best and gives you the most room...more than any other HD in my opinion, with possibly the exception of the Wide Glide. I think the floorboards on the Switchback help greatly with this. The Dyna chassis feels more roomy to me than a touring bike. I just feel crammed up on a touring bike, but I'm assuming that is because it's designed to accommodate 2 up most of the time.
I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam.
IMHO, the Switchback is possibly the best, most versatile do-it-all bike HD has ever made. If I were doing it over again or buying it would be a Switchback.
Just my $.02

2013's still came ABS or not. 2014's have only ABS. I bought a new 2013 for under 15k in my area and didn't go back and forth much at all.
Its really nice. I'd recommend it, but there is a short list of things:
windshield buffeting
change the front pads to something decent
make you engine mod plans because that cat is ridiculously hot
Don't plan the world with the side bags
Not much for backrest options yet
The other thing I'm going to do is put in a new LED front headlamp.

im sure you can do better than that on a 2013, you just may have to travel a bit..
