What size risers would you recommend when installing ape hangers? I was thinking 2 inch now im thinking 1 inch to keep the bars closer to the triple tree.
Different manufacturers have different drops in their bars after the rise. Figure out where you want your hands to be ... and who's bars/what model you want to buy. Then you can (semi) figure out how much rise you need based on how high they are and how much they drop. I helped a friend with his and getting it right was a bit of a crap shoot.
Not being a smart ***. But shorter risers with apes.
Get a buddy, hold your arms out at a comfortable height, and measure your hands to the trees. Subtract bar height you want and TADA!! Riser height.
Kind of depends on the apes too...you dont want to do 5 inch risers with 20 inch apes..
what size are the apes?
I have 16 inch apes with 1 inch risers on mine
Love your bike. I too have 16" with 1" risers, but your look is different from mine. How much did you lower your bike? How is the ride lowered and how much did it affect handling, if any?

Sorry to highjack your thread.
Thanks man! They are burly slammers on the lowest setting, Im probably not the best person to ask about how they ride...all my vehicles have always been low and I always go for style>function...I don't think it rides bad at all though!
This is my car back at its prime
/back on the thread...I think being as tall as you are, you should be fine with 17s with 1 inch risers
