Toku,
Like the idea of a wind damper. Never heard of it before. Where can I get it?

I have the exact same extension on mine as Jamie does. I agree with you that I still need more. I don't want to move the bottom out any further.

So the only solution I can see is the cut off the upper mounts and drill new holes.

I was trying to find out if Harley sells these brackets separately in case I mess it up.

To bring the screen top backwards....Remove the brackets and extend the cuts further in frame towards the back. Then grind the front down until it clears the mounting brackets when installed. ie cut a further 1/4 " into the slot and grind a 1/4" off the front. You may also find that half the issue is wind coming up from underneath the forks and this is where most of the buffeting comes from. The lower fork deflector is from earlier evo FLH models. They stopped fitting them when they went to twin cam motors. HD screens are only good for cutting up and using for frisbees. I don't meet many who are happy with them.

I was thinking along the same lines as beagle01 except instead of extending (cutting) the slots I would use a Dremel tool.

What Ynot said. My FXDF shield buffets when it's low on the triple tree. An inch or so higher and it's perfect. Might be worthwhile to give it a try to adjust it up and down a little.

I've been trying every different set up I can think of. My last resort would be to cut the brackets.

Rifle sells replacement brackets for Fat Bobs which tilt the screen back 10 degrees to align with the forks. I haven't looked to see if they have similar parts for other bikes.

Toku, If you find out if they sell seperate brackets I would appreciate you posting it.
Also what type of material is the brackets so I can get the appropriate saw blade.
Also , what do you think of your wind damper?

If you cut the bracket please post how you designed the cut.

Thanks,

Roger

Yekan,
The bracket will probably fit, but the real problem is the clamp design. It will not let the upper slot go back.
Though I may call them next week to see if they have some solution.
thanks,
Roger

I have tried to raise and lower. No difference on my bike. Just lets the wind go higher over my helmet. Though I must admit, the laminar lip helped some what.
Thanks,
Roger
