The moment I walked into the dealer my FXDC jumped out at me. I knew then and there it had to come home with me. I have never regretted that decision and now have it setup the way I like it, although, as with all Harley's, more mods in the pipeline

I bought my FXDC in 2008, in Myrtle beach during bike week. I was thinking of getting one for a while but no real intention of buying one that week. I sat on and looked at a lot of bikes then there it was a brand new 2008 FXDC in Pearl Black. Knew I had to have it, the color caught my eye and then I sat on it, and it was over bought it right then and there. I will never regret that impulse decision to buy it. Still doing mods and putting my touch on the bike, I have been offered really great deals on bikes at dealerships, but just can't let go of mine regardless of the deal offered.

Either way brother you can't go wrong with a SG or a SB, although cleaning chrome sucks it sure does look awesome.

I've been riding over 45 years. I've owned so many different bikes I've truly lost count. Over 50 anyway. Have owned Sportsters, two Electra Glides, Road Kings, several Super Gides. At 60 years of age I traded my 2009 Road King for a brand new 2011 Super Glide Custom. I had traded my 2007 Super Glide for the Road King because everybody said "you need a bagger at your age". I regretted it from the first day! I soon hated the Road King because it just wasn't "fun" to ride. I thought, "well, I'll give it some time and I'll learn to enjoy it". It took less than two years and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I really missed my old Super Glide. IMHO, there are NO BETTER Harley Davidsons then the Dyna family!!! NONE!!! I love those bikes because they are the best "do-it-all" Harleys made! That said, you know how my vote is gonna go. While the SB's are nice bikes, I love the chrome and all the extras that come standard with the Super Glide Custom. I think the fact that Harley sells so many Customs is the reason that they discontinued the Low Rider line.

I don't know if this will sway you at all, but my BIL has a 2006 Street Glide, and over the holidays, he asked me if I'd trade him "even up" for my Super Glide Custom. He loves my bike and is bored with his. Truth!

My bike. Pretty much stock except for forward controls and Stage One.

Any thoughts?
That's a question only you can answer. Me? I like chrome.

I think it has a lot to do with your generation. Seems like the younger men (under 40) like the blacked out, thug style bikes. The old coots like me prefer chrome. I like the look of them all but being an old coot went chrome.

I like em both ways. Lots of chrome or no chrome.
On my hot rod bikes I like the stock look, just plain.
Each to their own.

You can custom order the Street Bob with chrome engine and front forks. I bought the SG custom because they had one on the floor in the 110th anniversary paint scheme which I really love. I did change the controls to forward controls. I was looking at a chromed out Street Bob (by custom order) in the metal flake red. I saw on on the floor at Buddy Stubbs in Phoenix and it was absolutely beautiful.

I chose the bling and the two tone paint over the blacked out look. Everyones different.

I was going to buy a SGC, but after a demo ride I decided against it because of vibration. I rode a Street Bob and it had less vibration. I bought the Strret Bob. If you're looking at Dyna's, I would suggest giving a Fat Bob a ride. My FB is the smoothest, best riding Dyna I've ever owned.

Regardless of which Dyna you decide on, RIDE the EXACT Dyna you're going to buy before you sign the papers. I can tell you from (a bad) experience that each Dyna is different. Some vibrate much more than others, so it pays to ride the bike you're going to buy as much as possible before buying.
