I have a 2006 dyna super glide, I want to change the stock wrinkle black speedomount to chrome. HD doesnt list this part in there catalog, does anyone know where I can get one. I don't want to change anything except the mount and the speedo cup.
Thanks.
OK,.... go to your dealer and tell them to look up the part number for the chrome speedo mount that comes stock on the 06 superglide custom. That part # isnt in the big assessory book, but they have it in their OEM replacement parts book. And if your not in a big hurry,.... just give the guys at zanottis a call and they will get you the part number and save ya between 20-25%.
That housing is the same housing that comes standard on the 06 & 07 sportster 1200 low and 883 custom. For some reason the dealer didnt have an answer for me but to me it looked like the same size. I had them order it for me. Sorry, I dont have the part #, but through harley it costs $110. Fits fine.
Agree with the others - I called my dealer and asked for the mount for a 05 FXDC and was quoted the same - $110.
I do not believe this includes the back plate - was quoted $30 for that.
I have seen good prices at Zanottis - but went to order some grips on Monday - found their shipping on one item to be excessive ($17 for a set of grips) went DOWN when I added items to my cart. ChicagoHD was 1/2 the shipping and almost the same discount - both will likely have to order from HD - so find out what the lead time is.
