Default 2005 Deuce to 2006 Wide Glide wheels

I am trying to find out if the 2005 Deuce has the same size rear wheel as the 2006 Dyna Wide Glide with the only difference being the axle size. I read that the 2005 Deuce is 3/4" and the 2006 Dyna is 1". If I had the 2005 wheel drilled out to accept the 1" Harley bearing kit would it work?

Here is the part I can't understand. According to the Harley installation instructions and everything I have read online they state that HD part number 41174-07 is the rear polished 17" x 4.5" wheel for a 2005 Deuce. It clearly states it fits a 3/4" axle. In the fitment chart included in the instructions it states it will fit the 2006 Dyna. How can that be unless the 2006 Superglides and the Lowriders have different axle sizes than the Wide Glide??

All you need is the 1" rear axle installation kit.

Thanks for the response.. so that means the 2005 Deuce rear wheel has the same size hole in the middle of it as the 2006 Dyna and the only difference is the bearing size? I read a lot of posts where guys mentioned they had to drill out the rear wheel from the 2005 Deuce for it to accept the 1" axle size that is on the 2006. Interesting.

Not with that wheel. The O.D. of the 3/4", 1.00" and 25mm bearings are the same. You will need to rotor and sprocket bolts. I want to get rid of my spoke rims and that wheel will be on my 2007 wideglide.

Same thing with me. I want to get rid of my spoke wheels and tubed tires on my 2006 Wideglide and go with tubeless. My buddy has a rear chrome solid rim off of his 2005 Deuce that I could have for next to nothing. I just need to find a nice chrome 21" for the front.

ive done this mod to fit my 2010 wide glide.
the outer diameter of all the bearings is the same size.
the alloy painted wheel has a smaller centre hole, so you have to drill it out to take the central spacer tube. the chrome wheel has the larger centre so you dont have to do anything, except fit the correct wheel fitting kit.

more info here.
