Shop in my area likes the S&S cams. That's what was recommended with a thundermax. I originally went in there with the SE 203, andrews 37 or 54 in mind. I'm leaving displacement stock. Just a cam upgrade with a tuner if needed...and cheaper preferably..
Where do you want the power? They don't make 203s for newer bikes btw.
Posted this in another section earlier, thought I'd try here as well..
Currently got a 08 FXDB with DK air cleaner, cycle shack slip ons, and some XIED's. It seems to run good/fine. I'm looking to install a performance cam myself. (S&S 583 ez start) Would the XIED's be enough for this kind of upgrade? Not looking to get sold the thundermax or any other auto tuner($$$) What are my options on budget???
the thundermax is probably the best tuner out there. but i've been really happy with the powervision for ~half the cost. if i were racing i'd spring for the thundermax. but i dont race my fatbob.
check out fuelmoto's site. they have great support and reasonable prices.
I'm totally convinced the ThunderMax is the best ECM going although they don't come cheap but you get what you pay for. My second choice would be the TTS. Which ever one you choose, get it dyno'd so it's setup for your bike so it's done right. I know the cams and Tuner sure woke my motor up and made it run extremely well.
