If you like them, keep them. Don't worry about peoples opinions, after owning a bike for 3 years. & riding almost every day, I've found the people who scoff at stuff are usually the last people you should even bother to acknowledge. It's your bike, do as you will.
Skulls and flames are like pop music. It's not wrong to like pop music. But you may get some eye rolls from those who think they're part of some counter movement. Mostly though you don't see a whole lot of totally different styles with these bikes, people from one box right into another box. And that's OK by me.
You should keep them if they make you happy or sell them if they don't.
Like its been said, to each his own. My bike came with a Willie G deby cover. I as well am not a fan of the chrome, but I love the skull. I plan on sanding down the chrome and spraying it with a flat black engine paint. Did it on one of my buddies bikes and it looks real clean, and theres none out there that Ive seen yet.

Now that is something i would be really keen on seeing, as I said chrome is not really me but I do like the skulls but i also like some of the other touches, the moco should do a blacked out version of the skull....but if I can do it myself even better. If you get your done please let me know how and pics would be great...if you do don't mind a bit of flattering imitation.
Each to their own I say, my personal opinion is that the willie G stuff takes away for the Harley Davidson brand and personalizes to an individual a bit to much, similar to all the Roland sand stuff that has his name stamped on everything, am sure they are quality parts, but my names not Willie or Roland Sands so I'll pass.
I'm sure others think differently and that's fine, as long as you are happy with how your bike looks is all that matters, there will always be people that don't like whatever style your running no matter what you do.

So are you saying your name is Harley-Davidson, or are you saying that you only put parts with your name on your bike? What am I missing?

Have at it, maybe Ill start a new trend!! Its a real easy mod, just sand down the cover with either a real fine sand paper (1500+) or a fine steel wool. Then smooth that down with a scotch brite pad, clean with alcohol, and spray. I personally like Rustoleum flat black engine paint. Ive used it on a couple diff. projects. Its doesnt fade or chip and is heat resistant to over 1300 degrees I believe. Ill try to get some pics up once I get it done. Got a few projects already in the works that I need to wrap up before I forget how to put em back together!
I had a few (derby, points, air cleaner) on my sportster and liked the look. Of course too much of anything is usually not good. I will say that when I traded it in toward my FLD, it sold fairly quickly, so someone definitely liked 'em! But I don't plan on putting any on this bike...
HERE we go again don't mean to be offensive, but car/bike choice and how/what you got on it has not got anything to do with any one else. Are you trying too be a 1% outlaw S O A,, I personally don't give a **** what any one thinks how my bike looks I hate ape hangers and bikini fairings soa want a bees but I still look and respect their taste, **** some guys ladies are ugly in my eyes,,but again we are all different,, some say mines too short 5 foot and 43 kilo she need fattening up..
BUT back too your bike sell very quick and buy a pink bike then with pegs and carboard attached you can get that real motorcycle noise ( sorry im takeing the ****) just be happy you've got a nice ride
