I assume you are asking about 2009 and newer touring rear wheels. It is nice to get a 16 inch wheel and in 180 also. Problem is that starting in 2009 (2008 was bolt on) the drive isolation system was added and will not fit on a Dyna. I took a 2010 Roadking rear rim and re-laced it to my Dyna hub.

Another opportunity for me to prove my ignorance. What is this "drive isolation system" of which you speak?

i am talking about an aftermarket touring mag wheel. could be one to fit 08 and newer or one to fit 00 to 08. i am wondering what the real difference is besides the cush drive. can i put a pre cush drive mag wheel on the back end of an 08-12 dyna? is it more than just having new spacers made up and the right bearing in it?

The pre-cush drive rear wheels were 16 X 3.00 on the touring bikes. 150mm tire is the maximum for that rim and only if it is the Avon tire. I have been researching those tires for my 2008 Ultra Classic. If a 150 tire works for you, your options are wide open for a 16 X 3.00 or 3.50.

My Dyna, using the 16 X 5.00 from the 2010 Roadking is running the 180 Dunlop touring tire, in Wide White Wall of course.....................
