Hey, I have stock chrome pipes on my 2013 FXDF FatBob and I want to change them out to Screamin' Eagle Street Performance Staggered Dual Mufflers-64900124. Any insight helpful as to quality of pipes and new sound?! Thx
Sound is subjective and varies between each person's personal tastes - my recommendation is to go hang out at your local HD dealership and see if someone rolls in with a set of pipes you like or google on Youtube for different exhaust sounds - this may not be the best as sound varies based on recording and your computer speakers.
Personally I would do as so many of us have done - remove the stock & buy a new set from V&H or someone to get the best performance and sound.
Best with your decision.

Check the Vance and Hines website. They have a new set of Radius pipes. They are called Super Radius. Not much detail is given so I am waiting on a response from them on some questions I asked.

Good pipes for those that want the performance without having a bike that is annoyingly loud on trips. Its a moderately louder but deeper note compared to stock pipes.
Don't be put off by people telling you that only full systems perform well. This is simply not true. The only difference between many full systems and slipons is that the slipons have a joint, which should seal well anyway if you use new clamps as recommended. On the dyno I have seen full systems with some rubbish performance (especially V&H), they can have big power dips in mid range. That's not to say that some don't make good power, they do, but compared to good quality slipons it might only be 1-2 HP peak.
