Don't worry about these guys. I been riding slammed 4 seasons and my progressive suspension is not uncomfortable. Its my bare bones seat.
For this year, I went with Arnotts air ride. Now I can jack my bike up for the curves and slam it down when I park it or anywhere between.
My Progressive 412s will be for sale cheap. The dropin fronts is what u want. Just pop the shock nuts off the top, pull out stock springs, and drop in progressive.
Burly is just rebranded progressive for less money.
absolutely do what you want to your bike. slam it if that's what you dig man. this guy is right and it works for him. there are a few dudes on here that run what you're after and can help out so you don't break the bank doing it.
most importantly, have fun rippin it!
i just went from "slammed" shocks to some jri "a" series shocks. This is the best upgrade I've done. they are 12" and the ride is amazing compared to progressives.
Howard at motorcycle metal had a deal on them for the first 25 sold to members of this forum for about 500. Do a search and there may still be a few pairs left. You won't be disappointed. Theses shocks are completely cnc'ed.
You should title your thread "I want to downgrade my suspension". Slam it and then buy another bike for when you actually want to ride somewhere besides the local bar or bike night.
Because long stretches of flat interstate really test your suspension? I get jarred more in city riding (bars and bike nights, I guess) than I do on long trips or canyon carving.
I don't really get your mentality except to be contrarian. I am sure your Ohlins make you look really cool but I bet you don't do anything with your Dyna that necessitates them. Your $1000 shocks are probably more capable than the rest of your motorcycle, and maybe most riders.
P.S. What front suspension upgrades do you have to go along with the fancy rears? Oh, nothing? Weird...
