Been looking around on purchasing either a brand new SB or a used one, recently asked for a quote from a local HD dealer he said that he has a stock '14sb asking $14,200. Applied trough HD finance he said I got approved and I would need to put down $1600 with a monthly payment of $298 for 84mo pay penalty.. Do those numbers seem right to you? I did calculations and it comes out to over 26k ??? Is this right?
Price of the scoot sounds about right. Sounds like they are hosing you on interest rate and term. I would check with your local credit union. Typically better rates, all depends in your credit history
The retail price is $13,000, so that dealer is overcharging unless that includes the setup fee, tax and tag. (Or, unless there are added items on the bike.)
$1600 is high for a deposit.
I can't speak for the credit. That depends on your credit rating. The worse your credit, the higher the interest. This is even true within the HD Finance company.
Thinkin that's what I'm gonna need to do, debating wether going with a local dealer or this awesome deal I got out of state $13500 after is said and done for a 2011 SB with 10,300mi with Vance & hine exhaust and stage 1 filter .
I know a lot of time hd finance requires 10% down. They did when I bought my first new bike through them. But shop around for that interest rate. And if you get a lower rate for a shorter term the payment may not be all that different.

Finally, look at this https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ob-4-sale.html
Definitely gonna do some more shopping around, I seen that bike and it's a beaut!! I just don't know if seller is ok with financing or if seller still has a Lien.
I am on my 4th Harley ... all financed threw HD. Intrest rates always in the single digets. Never money down.
Either that dealer is bending you over or your credit is bending you over.
I would never put less than 25% down or pay for 84 months @298 per month. That is insane my 07 was 12k my payments were about 180 per month. Paid it off in 2-2.5 years. You would be better off finding a few years older bike for half the price. Not ******* on you, but they are trying to rake you over for sure.

Have a feeling they are just tryin to get over on me since I do not have the best credit

I know how it feels to be needing it now...be patient, get approved by a local credit union. Put as much as possible down, build up credit score with a lower payment. You definitely do not want to pay 26k in payments that's like buying two complete bikes.
