It's hard to see the rear wheel. Is it a regular stock dyna switchblade wheel? I need that new front wheel and right slider! Let me know if you want to go to a single disk . Nice bike man!
Attachment 365919 Here is a pic of my bike. And thanks for all the guidance guys I appreciate you taking your time to help me.
Nice bike!
I'm not sure of the specifics of your drag racer, or how involved you were with the tuning. These twin cam engines are pretty simple, 2 cylinder, speed density. Get you VE tables dialed in best you can, then you can work on AFR and spark.
You can put all your parts on now and just download a basic map. I installed my stage 1 a week after I got my bike. They just suggest waiting to do the actual dyno tune after you've put a 1000 miles on the bike so the engine is broken in before they flog the **** out of it on the dyno. I think I remember then telling me to keep the rpms under 3500 for the first 500 miles and under 4500 for the next 500. By that time you have a thousand miles on it and it "should" be broken in enough for the dyno tune. If you've ever heard a bike being dyno tuned you'll understand. Or any motor really. They beat on it pretty hard. Probably not a good idea on a fresh motor. They put almost 60 miles on my bike on the dyno and a lot of the miles were WOT and close to red line.
That is one nice looking scooter you have there, had a friend that had a Low-Rider in the 80's. I thought that was a great looking bike and the new one is just as nice.
I do understand the concept of tuning and I fully understand dyno tuning and breaking in an engine prior to dyno tuning. I have never seen a Harley get tuned, but watching my 2003 Cobra with a 22k long block on 28 pounds of boost I fully understand the flogging. Is 60 miles normal for dyno tuning a bike? When we do it in a car it may be a few tenths of a mile at a time and you could have 10-15 passes depending on your setup.
I bought the Bike a few days ago, first ride 14ish miles and parked it back in the garage. Day two ride, parked it in the garage with 257 miles on it lol. It only had 5 on it when I bought it. Today was a nice ride. Just a few more and I can go ahead and just drop it off for tuning soon lol
