Not only did he succeed, but he did a damn fine job! Back in the day, my father and grandfathers didn't have NASA workshops to do their maintenance in. They did it in the front yard with whatever they had, and rode cross country on it! I love to see someone get it done.

Did I miss it or did you decide not to split the cases?

In the end I didn't split 'em...

Thanks for the tip, lemme know where you can get them!

Yup, almost July 2022 and I am reading it.
Well done mate.
I want to open mine just for peace of mind. After 5500 miles, I changed the oils 3 weeks ago with a very thin mesh underneath the drain and went fishing for plastic bits. I had absolutely nothing. I even open the oil filter, and again, nothing. I think I have reasons to believe that mine is upgraded already (because it wasn't bought in a store, it was built in a custom shop), but even so, I will crack it open to see what I got in there.
Mine is a 2005 Road King, 27k miles now. I used to have a Sportster years ago, and I bought this one in October last year, after a few Jap bikes. Every noise is weird to me, but an old mechanic told me not to worry about it, there are no weird noises coming from the engine, and that's what I'm doing, but the thought is in the back of my mind all the time, so I will open it.
Greetings from the UK.
