I have a Sportster 1200 Custom, but recently changed to an LED headlamp. My boyfriend, who has the same model and had changed to LED some time ago, set his bike up next to mine before we changed mine out to see the difference. It's very significant! I definitely recommend LED. I'm currently looking into getting LED aux lamps as well as turn signals in the near future.
the brake light is well worth it imo, i definitely want people behind me to notice me... i had very little difference between running light and brake light back there until i put on the led and now they're both very bright...
as for the front, i just installed some TruWraps from Custom Dynamics, they pretty stealthy and really bright too
i'd love to get the daymaker headlamp to make it LED all round but i'm all out of cash now...
I did the Truck Light phase 7, Big improvement over stock. The Piaa Super Bright blew out, to much vibration (imagine that on a Harley?). Anyway, I needed to add Aux. Lights to fill in the dark spots when cornering.
I also upgraded to LED run/turns, and did a LED brake light.
You don't need load equalizers for the head light. and I only needed (2), 1 for left side and 1 for right side turn signals.
But newer scoots have that bulb out indicator, so I'm not sure on yours.
I went full LED. MUCH brighter than stock. In the rear I went with Red turn-signals, and added a Turn/Brake (not a Run/Turn/Brake) module. I really like the added burst of light from just the center running light, to the whole back end lighting up when I hit the brakes.
