I have a 2003 fxdwg and I am putting bags on. I have a bolt on the left side strut rear bolt that I cannot get out it is just spinnig and the fastner thing is just spinning. I have tried everything I can think of any ideas please thank you very much Jerry
Well sad to say but the little peice of SHHtttt metal receiver is broken off, is my best guess. So here's what I would try. Reach in and you will find the metal strip that held the bolt receiverpry that open a bit and get a grip with some long nose pliers. Then use an allen wrench or whichever one is appropriate and unscrew the bolt. You will need a new strip sold at HD. Lay down on the ground and look up if you need to, it may be good to have some extra hands with you. Or you could run a couple of bolts fom the inside out with washers and a locknut and make them detachable, sold at any local hardware!
