Well i got this for my forty eight. And am unable to get to the setup part of it.. 
called the dealer they wont warranty it.. WTF they wont replace it.. its a flipping day old.. wont work . Its a plug and play people.. I will be calling hd customer service department monday when they open.. so PISSED..

Is it simply not powering up? stupid question but did you try flipping the connector plug 180 and replugging and trying again? If it simply wont fire up then its defective and HD should replace it..
When I "adapted" this unit to my scoot my plug connector had a "key" on one side that prevented it from being plugged in correctly.. a few minutes with an exacto knife solved that little problem.. it still works like a charm and runs like a gem
