Got mine from the motorcycle superstore for just under seventy bucks. They have locks on the strap fasteners, but they don't work. Each bag can be unzipped from the fender throw over strap for easy removal.
You should also note that the sig relocation is not needed if you use these bags on the Fat Bob or Wide Glide, all other Dyna models will need a sig relocation. I ran these bags for a while, they are very nice and will protect the bike if it is happened to be laid down, the bag might not survive ( mine didn't) but the bike was saved from much could be damage.
I went with the hardbag upgrade and also the extra 1" upgrade. They're holding up great. I suggest using axle covers though. I tried it briefly without them and noticed that the axle and axle nuts tend to chew up the bags.
The quality of the BAD&G "hard" leather is amazing. I loved mine and only sold them because the brown color didn't really suit the direction I took my bike. I have seriously considered buying another set in black even though I'm also really, really happy with my Leatherpros FXDXT repros. I was able to fit my work laptop in mine, but it's a govt issue 15" model, not one of those smacky Macs with the wide screen. If you plan to transport a bigger laptop, there are other BAD&G bags that will work besides the slant models. The really nice thing besides the quality is you don't have to relocate your sigs with the BAD&Gs.
I think the axle nut clearance depends on the height of your rear end. Mine was slightly raised with 12.5" shocks and the nuts never touched my bags.
Here's a shot of my LP bags. They come in a leather option now too which is awesome looking. I would have gladly laid out the extra cash for that option when I bought mine if it had been available. The quality of LP is also outstanding. I've been pretty lucky in my choice of bags. Both companies have great products and great, personal service.
Went with the Viking bags mostly because of price. They are built nice for the money but a little work to mount. Will be making them detachable in the near future.

Yea they look good. Did you just go with the mounting hardware they provide? I was thinking about getting the quick detach kit. Its only $114 extra and you can take it off the bike in seconds. I just think for $300 all in I cant beat it.
I rigid mounted them for now but plan on installing the easy brackets soon. Not sure where they are made. I ordered them last Friday and were delivered Sat morning. Shipping label originated somewhere in Illinois.
Glad that a couple of people came up on the net with the LeatherPros retro bags. Outstanding quality and the ability to extend the bags has been critical to those times when I have been coming home from work with full bags (collapsed) and the wife called stating something along the lines of "you better not forget to stop and buy the (insert whatever)"
Right now I'm back in school and I can carry my 17" wide screen lap top plus books, lunch and gym clothes no problem.
