Default mx tbar installed - cable question

10" MX-TBars installed, but I haven't wired everything back together again yet… so far I'm stoked - they feel really comfortable, can't wait to actually ride with them

Anyway….

They're definitely a bit shorter than the stock mini-apes and now my cables seem a bit too long, especially the clutch…

Just by eyeballing them I'm thinking new cables should be -2"
Does anyone have any input, on what size they think, or how to dial in exactly what they should be?

Thanks

You could try re-routing them to take out some of the slack before you drop coin on new cables.

Route your clutch cable behind the trees and through the cable hole in the top tree, will make it look much cleaner. Brake and throttle/idle look fine but if you wanted to take out a little slack run the throttle/idle between the trees next to the headlight and back up to the cotnrol

I ended up routing my clutch cable down the right down-tube then back across. Worked perfectly. Just make sure to check for binding if you go this route.

thanks guys, i think both the clutch and throttle/idle cables will have to run by the headlamp for now...

there's a 46" braided brake line in the mail already (along with a jay brake caliper)

Default MX T-bars

Looks like you could have gone 12" or 14" MX T-bars!

The cables would have happily fit on higher bars but my arms wouldn't have :P
