Default How to remove idiot light bar from headlight visor?

2005 Low Rider with an FXDXT reporduction fairing. I've already installed a bottom mount headlight on the lower triple tree but now I'd like to do away with the headlight visor to which the top mount headlight once attached.

I've read several threads that gave great ideas on where to reposition the idiot light bar but nothing regarding how to remove it from the visor. I have a bad tendancy to break things when I experiment so I'd appreciate any insight re how to remove the the idiot light bar from the visor.

Many thanks.

I dont know about your '05, but on my '96 it seems to be a sealed, one-piece unit, with no way to "wiggle" it out the visor. The only solutions (on mine) would be to pull the harness, cut-n-splice wires, or destroy the visor. Seems to be a poorly thought-out design.
Maybe someone has a better answer, cuz I dont...

After you make a diagram of what color goes where, you need to unclip the wires from the plug connector. You'll need a tool from the dealer or an electronics store.
Then the wires will fit thru the hole in the visor. afterwards plug the wires back in to the connector according to your diagram.

If I remember right, on my '02 there were clips on the back side of the light bar. Just squeeze them in & the bar pops out the front. To get the individual lights out of the bar, there is a flat trim piece around the lights that you have to pry off, then push the lights out the front. Then follow the previous wiring instructions.
