I did the same switch, Suzuki GSX-R to a Street Bob. Are all you prec sportbike riders still rocking sportbike gear or did you switch? Like full face and leathers to half helmet and jeans?
I still use my full face Shoei RF-1100. I have a half helmet, but I do not like it on the freeway. I use my full face all the time. As far as my leathers go, that is only when I ride my sportbikes. I jacket is the Icon Prime Hero which looks pretty good on my FXDB so I wearing. Sportbike protection on a without looking out of place. I have stuff that I only wear when I ride my Harley as well.

Nice ride congrats. Hopefully one of the wide glide guys chimes in about the bumps. I'm guessing it's that skinny front tire or to much air.
I wondered that myself, but then I thought if that was the case I should have felt all the bumps the whole trip... But like I said the first 50 miles I didn't notice any bumps... But then again the first 50 miles I may not have noticed do to the nostalgia of finally riding the new bike (and my first Harley) :P

I still wear a full-face and a good leather jacket and gloves. Sure, some of the guys in their Harley rider "pirate outfits" look at me funny, but that's their problem, not mine.
I was surprised by how much Harley riders are into conformity.
I wear a dot full face now exclusivly after 5 years before that with a non dot carbon fiber half. I occaaionally wear the half now on nice days down to the beach and back.
I feel naked on the freeway now without my full face! Other than that sweatshirt and jeans.I got my biker jacket for when its really cold. Boots for long rides.
First suspension mod should be ricor intiminators. Not too expensive and make a positive change in front end feel. My next mod for my fat bob

Probably nostalgia. Mine feels a bit that way, but also check your riser bushings. If its got the factory rubber ones still in it, they might be moving around a bit. Polyurethane bushings are $10 from Dennis Kirk. Just changed mine a couple days ago.
Thanks for the response. I'll look into the bushing thing. In under first 2 weeks, already got 800 miles logged on her. I notice now my right handle (throttle) vibrates much more than the left... I guess this is probably also just normal.
Also is this all stuff they check on the first 1000 mile check up and is it really recommended, or is this just a good excuse for the shop to grab $350?
Thank you very much to everyone for the responses. I'm loving riding
I enjoyed riding with the ninja... But I LOVE riding now.... Hard to believe in less than 2 weeks I've already rode her 800 miles. The wide glide was definitely a good fit for me
Congrats Shadowknight! Welcome to the forums. After the "nostalgia" wears off you do tend to notice every little bump, squeak, vibration or noise. You mention that the throttle side of handlebars shake more.
Is that at idle, slow speed, or crushing speed? The engine is rubber mounted and at idle and slow speed you will notice much more vibration that at a higher rpm/speed. This is normal. If it seems to vibrate excessively at higher speeds/rpm's I would have dealer look at it. My bet is you are just getting to know your new awesome Wide Glide!
Hddan, I don't notice anything different at higher speeds. I apologise, I probably sound like a siffling child asking questions about tidious stuff... I really should stop. I apologise everyone
