Welcome to the forum, there are a lot of ball busters here....sometimes jokes or comments don't translate well when it's not face to face....I had an HD fairing on my scoot for a bit, but took it off because I just couldn't solve the helmet buffeting issues I was having and I'm more of a slammed out ape hanger kinda guy...

its all good, no worries. its just every time I get the same BS from some of these dudes. they don't know me nor should they judge me on the color of my bike or if I have a fairing on it. I'm not a "thug" neither is my bike. Im a prototype machinist, have a large sheet metal division at my work. i was thinking of having a bracket bent up to save me swapping out trees and it turned into a pissing match. (as I figured)
im an ape hanger/slammed dyna guy as well, but on certain bikes. My dx is for carving around the New England back roads etc. where a suspension and an alternative bar set up benefit's me greatly. (pot hole season up here)

Honestly I'm not ashamed to admit I got my bike because if the Soa show. To be honest I knew I wanted a Harley I just didn't know what I wanted. And when I saw that show I was like man I want an fxdx real bad and I researched and looked around. And I found out fxdx is an nice all around bike with a lot of mod potential. And it wasn't till hot bike magazine that made me want to get the fxdxt fairing. But honestly if you don't want to be seen as a soa poser don't wear their stuff while riding it looks bad but each to their own. Also always do something a little different that makes your bike unquie and as always learn that riding is not giving a **** about people it's knees to the breeze brother

ha...what ever floats your boat, back in 2004 I was debating on the dx or fxsts. (these were the chopper days) the mechanic at out local hd dealer got the dx before I made up my mind. so I bought my springer. 3 bikes later (last year) I had the opportunity to buy one stock w 1600 miles for $6k and I did. how this links me to a silly tv show is past me. usually when I want something I make it happen rather then needle the people who have what I want. that's just me though...

You started the so called pissing match that you expected. All the other poster commented about was it becoming more popular because of the show. No where was anything posted directed at you as a put down, until after you mouthed off over something that wasn’t said.

now that you mention this, you're right...
I really didn't needed someone to state the obvious, tell me how good my fairing works then go on about a tv show..
