Thanks all! Like DK says it will flow plenty for my bike. Not going for speed, going for looks (what I like), sound (not too loud) and not outrageously priced. Got all three pieces for under $450.

Thanks for the heads up on the pipes. I believe you are right. Will seat them in further and get the clamps where they belong. Should the clamp be on the slip on flush with the edge?

Thumbs up

BIG KUDOS to DK for stepping up here. Can't wait to see the results from the bake off. Gotta love a manufacturer who isn't afraid to run their product head to head with their biggest competitors and be transparent about the results. That tells me they are confident in their product and are intent on proving why it's the best value. DK, you have my business on my next AC..... pending results

Please let us know when you post the results from the 100 pulls.

The back end of the clamp yes. I would just slide and wiggle them on till the heat shield touches the chrome of the slip ons. Loosen the heat shields first. To verify they are on enough take them off and measure the flat part inside where the slip on slides over the head pipe to where it tapers out. Go to the head pipe and measure it out and mark it on the engine side of the head pipe and slide the slip ons to that. You want that whole flat part of the bracket fully on the head pipe for max grip.

Here's with SE slip ons. The heats shield went right to where the chrome started on the slip. That was dealer installed, so I'm assuming thats right...lol!! I slid on a little further to blend the heat shield to the slip on.

Here's with the V&H straight shot slip ons. These were a lot more flush with the heat shield. Smaller diameter.

lol, I would say we are a bit apprehensive/excited every time go into the dyno room.

When we go into the dyno room, it is BEFORE we release a new product.

If we have an idea that we think is good, we'll fab up quite a few prototypes, and take those, along with a few bikes and do a bunch of pulls. (3 pulls per configuration, to make sure we are not getting any anomalous data)

We will test our fabbed parts against known parts, and see how they compare. We have been fortunate, most of the parts we have fabbed up do well, and go into production, then on our website for sale.

BUT, it does not always go that way! We spent quite a bit of time toward the end of 2013 on a particular part that we were excited about, and pretty sure was going to be a gangbuster new product.

The first part of this year we had over a dozen variations of this product in the dyno room, along with 4 bikes.

Not a single variation worked well on any of the 4 bikes!

All those prototypes are now paperweights.

We'll post up some of the pulls on the forum, and all of them will be on our website in the relevant product descriptions.

It will probably be around the 15th of May.

I have been pretty swamped and have only gotten two of the dyno charts scanned and noted...will be doing more next week.

Here are the first two-

The first one is a direct comparison between our new Outlaw 636v and a HD SE Heavy Breather. We were pretty happy to see these results!

This next one is the difference between a stock A/C and stock tune and the Outlaw 636v and a Power Vision tune.

Shows how well a basic Stage 1 upgrade can improve power.

Hey c-note-

I still have not taken the time to annotate and scan all the dyno runs we did months ago when we were testing different products...but I did get another one done today.

Here ya go-
