Everywhere I go people compliment my softail. Which is great because it really is a sweet bike. And I always say thank you and politely chat with folks who ask a lot of questions about it.
And the whole time I sit there thinking, "I wish I had my Dyna back."
I'm going to get crushed on a trade and I know it. But sometimes it is what it is and you just have to bite the bullet.
Sooner or later, I'm going to have me another Dyna.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming. Thanks for tuning in.
I say do it, if you have to have one bike in the garage a Dyna does just about everything.
Having said that I tired out a soft ail slim and really liked it but couldn't part with my Dyna so it would have to be an addition not a replacement. And that opens up a whole new can of worms.
I'm with you all. I've got a Wide Glide, which I love, but I also really like the Breakouts (I know, I know, just a more comfy version of mine), and I LOVE a FatBoy! I don't really want to part with what I've got (first bike)....but like you, the "bike bug" gets you.
Got an offer from one of the local dealers to buy back my softail at MSRP. I would end up losing a little bit on the parts I had put into it, but all things being equal that's too good to pass up.
Looks like I'll be back on a Dyna soon. I can't wait!
There only thing I need to decide for certain is whether it's going to be a Super Glide or a Fat Bob. Most likely a Fat Bob as it just suits me. Still, if I can find a Super Glide I would like to take it for a test ride to see how it compares to a Bob.
I have a sweet SG but it's just sitting in the garage since I got the '04 WG. I think having two bikes is a must for me though because friends and family visit me from time to time, folks who ride at home. It's great to take a brother or cousin for a scoot up to Lake Tahoe. Having said that, the SG would be the first to go and the WG the last to leave...
