JOE, mine is 35w but does not look like that at all. Its super spotty and down right dangerous. Where is that from? Maybe my 01 fxdx headlight makes it different?

not sure about the pattern did you pull the difuser plate inside the lamp?

Didn't pull anything, just took the stock light out and put the HID in. I don't think my HID has a metal deflector thing on it, its just a naked bulb. Ill have to look though, I forget.

no inside your headlight, there is a disfuser at the front, pull that out

I think i have full install pics as well but i was saving a unit someone already botched when they put in so they have alot of clean up

Joe I thought you said you left the stock diffuser in place?

For clarification so we're on the same page, haha:

Diffuser:

Diffuser Removed:

H4 HID bulb with Shorud:

I've heard of people removing the stock diffuser, it provides a more forward facing light pattern but some say it scatters everywhere?

I know the Bulb shorud will have to stay on, it's what keeps the majority of the light of the bottom of the reflector so it doesn't shoot up and blind uncoming drivers. The black diffuser thing is what I'm curious about, and is it easily removed/installed?

I too am curious now if you meant that black thing? i left mine in and it seems fine. Would it help to remove that? However i am running the Bi Xeon you know hi &low beam in one bulb. Mine has a great low beam cut off on it i hate to screw that up
