Default Short shots?

I've seen a fair few posts on here where people are ditching the short shots on their bikes for something else ..

I'm considering short shots (main reason being with my chopped and lowered rear the longer exhausts dont quiet look right)

Is there a problem with short shots ... or am I reading to much into it ...

Lose performance due to lack of back pressure. But they are loud.

Is it really just that? How much of a performance decrease are we talking

I'm not overly fussed about eeking out every last ounce of power from the bike, most of my mods are for looks rather than performance ... I only got the FP3 so i could put a big sucker on the bike

I was thinking of adding quiet baffles anyway, just to lower the tone, I believe they will help with the back pressure too

I initially went from stage one with Vance and Hines 3" slash slipons and didn't like the look once I slammed it. I went to short shots and I honestly couldn't feel any drop in power. I don't ride it like a sports bike anyway but in my honest opinion its probably only something you'd notice on a dyno.

l followed a similar path with my old dyna, l noticed a real drop in low rpm torque, particularly taking off from lights etc. lt was great in every other aspect, but l could notice the difference...

My bike runs very well with them, not saying it couldn't be better if I was chasing every single bit of performance but I love the look of them and have them sounding ok too

People bash these pipes simply because they are one of the least expensive out there. But most people start out with them .. go figure. Then they upgrade and the hate comes out.
Most members on forums all over the net live by two simple rules ...
1 if its on there bike, truck ect its the best
2 if its the most expensive its the best

Sad really if you thank about it. OP get what you like no mater what the cost. I ditched 2 sets of pipes for the short shots simply for the sound and look. I wont change them as I am 100% happy

I had them on my old Sportster and I thought they looked and run just fine.
