Wheel set on it's way from Hogpro and Chicago HD is sending me the chrome lower sliders tomorrow. My question is: what are my options for chroming the axle ends?
1st question is, have you ever had the axle out? Hope so, because if not, by the time you get it out, there won't be nothing to chrome. Chrome covers are probably the better choice for you and alot cheaper. Tim
To say they are a b!tch to get out would be an understatement. If you have an '05 and the axle has never been out, IE: new tire installed, just plan on getting a new axle. You might get lucky and have on that the factory actually put grease on when they installed it, you'd be one in a million. My '06 was built on Feb 22, 2006, when I went to put a new rear tire on in August '06, I had one hell 'ov a time getting it out. Good luck. Timmer
