Default Tall Dyna Riders

I'm a soldier, stationed in Afghanistan. I am 6'4" tall.I'll be getting a new bike when I get home and have pretty much settled on a wide glide because it seems to beTHE tall person's model. Years ago I actuallyowned a sporty, but now want a bike that fits my long frame. I would like the advise of the tall riders in the group. (Over six-foot) What bikes and/or mods make riding a pleasure for you guys?

Watch for the seat.Low profile seats move you close to the front/in an uncomfortable position.

I am 6' 4"ish as well and the Wide Glide will fit you just fine. I personally have a streetbob with Mid controls but I like my legs under me and supporting my weight, other guys love to be all stretched out.

You will not regret a Wideglide. Oh and a bit of advice. Have them put on a 110" motor kit right off the bat. It is the only thing I wish I had done to my bike.

I'm 6'5" and ride a Dyna Super Glide. I've extended the forks 4" and put forward controls on my bike. I really like it that way. Good luck over there! Come back safe! And keep your head down!!!

I'm also 6' 4", and my SG fits me pretty good.

I prefer the mids, but that's just me. I get a backache with forward controls... as long as my old knees will bend far enough, I'll keep the mids.

I did change the handlebars, though.

Have a safe trip back!

6'4" and have a 07 FatBoy with extended floorboards, brake and clutch pedals. I also added a LePera Barebones solo seat that sits me down and back. So far so good. I was set on the FB but sat on a WG and it just didn't do it for me.

The WG will fit you as good as any.
I have a SG with extended forwards and that's a good setup for me (6'5").
I rode a buddies WG with stnadard forwards and it was not nearly as good as mine with the extended.
Extending the forwards on a WG is not a big deal so you can start with the standards and if they don't work, move to the extended.

The wide glide is probably the best bike for taller riders. While you can make other bikes fit, the WG works best right out of the box...moreso than any other HD. You definitely sit taller, and further back than other models. I found the stock seat to put me in a decent riding position...unfortunately, it's an aweful seat...very uncomfortable after only a short while. So I bought the HD "pillow" seat, and it's nice for the wife...but I found it pushes me forward slightly...and I prefer to sit back. I also purchased a Sidekick seat from HD. It definitely looks cooler (not great for passengers though), and it placed me back at least an inch or two. I'm slightly lower as well, but that doesn't bother me at all. I'm 6' tall, and prefer to have room to stretch. If you're a couple inches taller, you might want to think about getting some forward control extensions....but not totally necessary. I'd say the WG is the perfect bike for you...just make sure you swap that stock seat out as quick as possible.

I have looked at the Street Bob: Awesome bike. I am just not sure if the aesthetic wouldn't wear off for me after awhile. I can see that I would want to put Van Dutch strips and a sixties tank badge on already. I would definately have to get the forward controls. As a tall guy, I have been told, all my life, that this, or that is too small for me: Clothes and bikes, mostly. I am ready to get a bike that leaves no doubt and makes no sacrifices. Thanks for the tip on the 110 kit. I'd thought about that.
