Default Internally wired bars 09 dyna

Just went through the best of dynas sticky about internal wired bars and would like to know if anyone can tell me-do you need to remove the tank to get to the wiring, or can you pull the rubber frame plugs out and get to them(2009 fxdc). I have the factory service manual and I believe it mentions removing the tank. It looks like there is room without removing the tank and would like to know if anyone has experience with this.

Thanks, John

loosen the bolts and slide the tank back, carefully, there's things attached!
it'll be easiest if you remove the dash so you can unplug what's wired under there

Changed bars twice in the last year. I never moved the tank. There is a plastic cover under the backbone below the tank. pull that that cover down for easier access to the wiring. if you pull the rubber grommets out as well you should be able to maneuver the connecters out in to the open.
