looking for advice
I recently upgraded to 10 inch T Bars the cables were a little short. not much but they were still a little taught so I went and purchased cables for12 inch apes. however they look like they may be a little too long. I was going to install them myself but after looking through the stuff its pretty intimidating removing the gas tank to get access to the throttle, draining the fluid out of the brakes and the transmission. I am a pretty competent mechanic but wondering if this was difficult as it Looks. or should I wait until after the holiday weekend and have a professional do it?
If you have never done cables switches before make sure you have a Harley service manual. Follow the manual and have correct tools you should be able to do it. Just give yourself enough time complete to finish and don't rush. Good luck'
+1. Not that daunting. I say do it and learn!
One of the great things about our Harleys is that they're easy enough to do most anything if you follow those rules.
do you think I should worry about the cables being too Long they look like they might be four to six inches longer than normal. hAte to get into it and Find out there too long
wAtched couple youtube videos and went ahead and gave it a shot you were right it is actually a lot easier than it seems. cables are a little longer then they need to be but nothing a couple zip ties couldn't fix
