I agree on the dual disc setup. I'm guessing replacing the headlight with the non-LR version is easy? Looks like the hole in the bottom of the triple tree is what the Street Bob's use??? One thing the SB offers that I'd love to have is the ability to run the bike without a key sticking in it (not really an issue).
Can anyone explain why the LR makes peak torque at 3,500 RPM vs. 3,000 RPM for the SB?
Also, why does the SB weigh less dry but more wet? It's the same sized fuel tank according to the specs.
Hey man, the key does not stay in the bike. You just have to unlock the ignition. By the way, I used to ride a Triumph Tiger 1050. That bike was awesome. I always wanted to test ride the Speed Triple.

As 2>4 said, key just locks or unlocks the ignition. Can be used w/o it. Re: the headlight, yes, all you need to do once you remove the adjustable handlebar/headlight brow contraption is get a mounting block and a bolt like the other models use (and a bucket of course).
Thanks for the responses! I was thinking my 2005 LR had it where you left the key in. Sounds easy enough to mod out my dislikes. I am starting to like the look of that 1/4 fairing. I gotta says you guys are swell...seriously you all are great. I've leraned more in this single thread than anywhere else about the new Low Riders.
You adding more parts, that'll be another 4 days Ike. J/K hopefully you'll have it on Tuesday and a fresh set of pics to go with it.
The 1/4 Fairing was one of the parts that the dealership was to install. I just did not have it at the end of last week. It is the last part and it is coming today. As far as I know, the dealer should be putting everything on today.
Dumb question....is the strap that goes over the stock seat necessary or is it just for passenger to hold? Im asking because I put a solo on and when/if I switch back and forth I rather not deal with the strap.

Completely unnecessary. The first thing that came off my bike. However I did put the original screw back after removing the strap.

I use the stock seat without the strap...it works just fine. It probably helps to keep the seat from moving as much with the strap on, but I don't have any issues with it removed.
