Did you get the stealer to put on the forwards or did you do them?
I just called Kuryakyn and their forwards DO NOT fit the FXDL with stock headers. Ug. They do have a clip and cover for the primary shifter to keep it from banging around and you do not have to cut it or remove it (and the entire primary).

I had the stealership install them before I took delivery. I am very happy with them.
Yep, was out tonight as well and rode my friend's Street Bob with the forward controls. It looks like we have a winner! So anyone do the conversion? I see that the Kuryakyn kit does not fit the FXDL with the stock exhaust. Really? It has a cool little fitment that secures the primary shaft and a cover for the spline end. The HD kit calls for the primary removal or cutting of the shaft and plugging the hole. I like the K philosophy to keep the shaft intact for changes of mind and resell options.
Also I have the VH slip-on with the stock headers. Anyone pull the cats out? Experience? Sound? Thanks!
I am not that tall (5'6), so the stock controls work great for me. Many, if not most, LR owners in this thread have done the forward controls.
As to the cat questions, I have V&H Big Shots so it was never an issue. I know there have been a few LR owners in this thread who have done it.
Here are a couple of quick cell phone pics I took that show my three winter upgrades. V&H Pro Pipe, Screamin Eagle intake, and the LePera Maverick seat which arrived today. I totally love the initial feel of the seat and hope it keeps that feel on an extended ride. It is firm like the Mustang but really hugs your butt which supports the lower back. I took some measurements with the different seats that I own. Below are the results for the distance from my crotch to the edge of the tach on the tank, the height of the seat where the driver sits above the battery box cover and the seat width. The stock seat is without the pad on it that move you forward.
Stock 11.5" back 2.5" above 13" wide (tapers out to 14 at seat pan)
Le Pera 11.4" back 2.2" above 13.5" wide
Mustang 10.5" back 3.5" above 16.5" wide
Tallboy 11.5" back 4.5" above 16" wide
If it is nice in the next day or so I will push it outside and get some pictures in better light with my camera.
