My Battery Tender Jr. has been doing an excellent job keeping the battery charged this winter. Love that pigtail adapter that came with the bike. Makes the whole process so easy.
No riding this weekend as the weather is a little too cold. Looks like it is going to be sometime in March before I can ride again.
There was decent weather here in the ATL this weekend. I was able to ride ride The Gauntlet for the first time ever today. That was as great! When I was trying to decide on bikes I was split between cruiser and sport bike but my LR tools the turns with the best of them. I had it so leaned over a few times and was waiting on the inevitable dragging sound, but I never heard it.
I checked my tires to make sure I wasn't miscalculating my lean angles and I wasn't. I used every bit of tread across the tire surface. It looks like I couldn't have made a better choice.
Bad weather is approaching this week though. I probably can't ride until Thursday at the earliest.
Ok, I'm sorry if this has already been covered (I tried the search function) but I've pretty much got my FXDL just the way I want her, until I move to Stage 2 upgrades...
Except for one, hopefully simple/cheap [plug and play] fix... That damn horn has got to go. A Honda Rebel has a beefier sounding horn . What are the recommended simple upgrades to the horn that will not leave one embarrassed to touch the horn button?

I've been looking for the same thing for my 2015, but there isn't much out there. Another member with an FXDL suggested scoring the horn from another dyna because the actual horn under the cover does mount ok in the LR spot. I'm finding some shortcomings as I get more into wanting to make some changes and that is definitely the horn and the bars. I wish it didn't have the risers.

I do not recall this subject being covered much if at all. Good question. I am not sure I have ever used my horn. Will test it out when I get a chance. A strong horn is worth having.
I'm not going to go through 317 pages of the thread. But has anyone put mini apes on their 14-15 LR? I was looking at the Chubby Reapers 10". I'm a really short dude. I used a tape measure and a 10 inch bar going onto the stock risers seem s pretty high for me. However I don't really have anyone around to hold up the bike while I sit in riding position while someone else holds a tape measure. Not sure if anyone knows of a kit the eliminates the risers...

I have researched this a bit for my bike as I was very disappointed with the horn. There are no simple bolt on solutions made just to fit our bike. We cannot use a side mount horn because of the ignition switch location unless you make a custom mount or find a way to make the one off of a Breakout work. There is not much room to mount anything where the current horn is located. I see that some have mounted a side mount horn under the bike by the rear engine mount or by the front engine mount. I was not fussy about either set up. Seeing as I have an engine guard I was thinking it wouldn't take much to make a bracket to mount a horn or even two onto the engine guard bars. I was planning on maybe getting two side mount horn kits and mounting one on each side of the frame to the bars. It is one of those when I get a round to it projects...

Good to know. The LR needs a nice simple horn upgrade. Who else has looked into this?
I cannot wait to get out and ride some more. Not riding is damn tough.
